How to Use the Online Help

To bring up Help on a main topic, choose any of the following from the Help menu:

• Product Overview - Explains what Active Expert is and gives an overview of the application development tasks you can accomplish with the Active Expert Application Builder GUI

• Main Window - Describes the main window including the Contract Repository view and the local Workstation view of objects

• Tasks - Explains how to accomplish all needed tasks with the Application Builder.

• Application Programming Interface - Describes the main components of the Active Expert application programming interface (API) and explains how to call TUXEDO services using the API. Provides the theory behind the automatically generated sample code you get in the Application Builder (the Active Expert GUI).

• Sample Application Walk-through - Demonstrates how to build a client application with Active Expert based on the BANKAPP example.

• Keyboard and Menu Shortcuts - Lists keyboard shortcuts and associated menu paths

• Windows and Dialogs Reference- Explains how to use each task window. (You can also access this help information for a particular window by pressing F1 while that window is open.)

• About Application Builder - Provides version and copyright information

You can also use the F1 key to get help on the main window or any task window that is currently open. You can use the Alt key combinations indicated on the Help menu items as an alternative to using the menus.
