Installing the Power.Enterprise! Software

 

The BEA WebLogic Adapter for Power.Enterprise! 3.0 is installed as part of the standard WebLogic Integration installation. This appendix provides the requirements and instructions for installing the Power.Enterprise! server, Power.Server!, and the Power.Enterprise! client software: Power.Map! and Power.Manager!. It includes the following topics:

 


Power.Server! Requirements

The following sections describe the database, security, and system requirements for the Power.Enterprise! server.

Database Requirements

Verify that your server database meets the following requirements:

Security Requirement

For security reasons, deploy Power.Enterprise! behind a firewall. To allow HTTP access for outside users, you can either provide direct access through your firewall or set up a proxy server.

System Requirements

Verify that your server meets the following system requirements:

Note: For UNIX operating systems, make sure all necessary patches are installed to support Java JRE version 1.3.

 


Installing Power.Server!

During installation of Power.Server!, you will need to provide the following information:

  1. Insert the Power.Enterprise! Server CD into your server's CD-ROM drive.

To install Power.Map! and Power.Manager! on a client machine:

  1. Insert the Power.Map! Power.Manager! CD into the client CD-ROM drive.

  2. Follow the instructions displayed on the screen.
