Create a Visitor Role
If you want to allow only a specific set of users
to access certain desktops, look & feels, books, pages, or portlets, create
a Visitor Entitlement role.
To create a Visitor Role:
- In the Visitor Entitlements tool, select a portal
Web application in the "Select Web Application" field. (Each Web
application contains its own Visitor Entitlements.)
- Select Visitor Roles in the resource tree.
- Right-click Visitor Roles and select Create Role
(or click Create Role in the toolbar).
- In the dialog box that appears, enter the name
of the new role, and click Create. The new role appears in the resource tree,
and the Visitor Entitlements editor appears.
- Define the rules for which users will be part of
the role by adding
users to the role, adding
groups to the role, or defining
the role with expressions.
After you create and define the Visitor Entitlement
role, you can set
the role on portal resources.
The new Visitor Role appears in the Resource tree.
