WebDescriptor --> Configuration

Use this tab to invoke validate and persist the Web Application's deployment descriptors.

Validation checks to see that the deployment descriptor conforms to its document type definition (DTD). It does not verify the existence of any of the components you have configured nor perform any other type of validation.

After you have validated the deployment descriptors, click Persist in the right panel. Your changes to the deployment descriptor are not written to the deployment descriptor files on disk until you click the Persist button.
