Collecting Data About the Properties of a Workflow Process

A workflow process metric is a feature that allows you to collect data that is associated with the property of the workflow process. To collect metrics, you define the subset of metrics that Siebel CRM captures, and then activate metric collection after you deploy the Siebel CRM application.

To collect data about the properties of a workflow process

  1. If necessary, display the WF Process Metrics object type in the Object Explorer.

For more information, see Displaying Object Types You Use to Develop a Workflow Process.

  2. Locate the workflow process you must monitor.

For more information, see Locating a Workflow Process in the Workflow Processes List.

  3. In the Object Explorer, expand the Workflow Process tree, and then click WF Process Metric.
  4. Right-click in the WF Process Metrics list, and then click New Record.
  5. In the Metric Name property, choose the desired metric from the list of predefined metric names.
  6. For the Property Name property, choose a process property from the list of process properties that are defined for the workflow process.
  7. Make sure the Inactive property does not contain a check mark.

The Inactive property allows you to turn off a metric and turn it on later.

  8. Activate the workflow process.

For more information, see Process of Deploying a Workflow Process.

  9. In the Siebel client, navigate to the Administration-Business Process screen, and then the Workflow Deployment view.
  10. Query the Name field of the Active Workflow Processes list for the workflow process you activated in Step 8.
  11. Set the Analytics Level field of the Active Workflow Processes to Property or All.

This step allows Siebel CRM to collect metrics at run time.
