About Scanning Barcodes for Toolbar Actions

You can scan barcodes into Siebel Field Service to initiate the same actions that occur when users click the toolbar buttons. This scanning is for the convenience of users who cannot use a mouse to click the toolbar buttons, or who shift frequently between the New, Update, and Find operations.

Table 51 lists the barcode values and associated actions. The Barcode Example column shows the actual barcodes that correspond to the barcode values in a typical barcode font.

*UPDATE*

*FIND*

*OPTIONS*

Use ComboBox Selection. Scanning this barcode toggles between the Use drop-down list selections in the barcode toolbar.

NOTE:  If you scan only the letters in barcode without the leading and trailing asterisks, then the operation fails. For example, to represent NEW, you must use the following form: *NEW*.
