Supported Upgrade Paths for Siebel CRM Version 8.1.1.x

Table 5 lists supported upgrade paths for Siebel CRM version 8.1.1.x. For more information on terminology, see Terms Used in This Guide.

NOTE:  The procedures in this guide assume that you do not use left-hand navigation. However, you can set up left-hand navigation. For more information about left-hand navigation and about implementing it, see Siebel Fundamentals for Siebel Open UI

Siebel CRM version 8.1.1.11 (SIA repository)
  • Full database upgrade.
  • Two-step repository upgrade.

You must perform a two-step repository upgrade:

  1. Upgrade Siebel CRM version 7.5.3 through Siebel CRM version 7.7.2 (SEA repository) to Siebel CRM version 8.1.1 (SEA repository).
  2. Upgrade Siebel CRM version 8.1.1 (SEA repository) to Siebel CRM version 8.1.1.11 (SIA repository).

  • Full database upgrade.
  • Single-step upgrade.
  1. Perform a full database upgrade. A Development environment upgrade and a Production environment upgrade is required.
  2. You can directly upgrade to Siebel CRM version 8.1.1.11. It is a single-step upgrade and post-upgrade process.
  3. The New Customer repository, generated through a three-way repository merge, contains all the content from the Siebel CRM version 8.1.1.11 Innovation Pack. For more information on repository merge, see Performing the Siebel Repository Merge.

Siebel CRM version 8.1.1.11 (SIA repository)

Siebel CRM version 7.8.2 (SIA and SEA repository)

  • Maintenance release installation.
  • Incremental repository merge.
  1. Run Oracle Universal Installer (OUI) maintenance release installer to apply the Siebel CRM version 8.1.1.11 SIA maintenance release.

    NOTE:  Siebel Innovation Pack content is not included in the maintenance release.

  2. If you intend to use Open UI and new features included from the Siebel CRM version 8.1.1.11 Innovation Pack then you must import it using incremental repository merge. For more information on incremental repository merge, see Performing the Siebel Incremental Repository Merge.
