Preface

This guide explains how to successfully transition from the previous version of the Sun Javatrademark System Content Delivery Server to the latest version. It describes how to configure Content Delivery Server database and migrate information from the previous to the most recent version of Content Delivery Server by setting the properties.xml file. It provides a mapping of changes in directories and files from the previous release to the most recent release. Before You Read This Document

This guide is for system administrators who are responsible for transitioning the previously installed version of Content Delivery Server to the most recently installed version.


How This Document Is Organized

This guide is divided into the following chapters:

Chapter 1 explains the process of migrating the previous release of Content Delivery Server to the current release. The chapter walks you through preliminary migration operations, such as migrating configuration and branding information, and then shows you how to migrate Content Delivery Server database.

Chapter 2 describes the properties configuration process and includes a sample properties configuration file.

Chapter 3 lists the changes to APIs from the previous installed version of Content Delivery Server to the current version.

Chapter 4 describes how to create a database configuration file for the previous version of Content Delivery Server and how to migrate the database to the current version.

Chapter 5 provides troubleshooting information for migrating Content Delivery Server database.
