Preface

The Netra CT Server Installation Guide describes how to perform the initial installation of a Netratrademark CT server.

The intended reader of this manual is an experienced system administrator who has experience installing hardware systems and components and has used the Solaristrademark Operating System (Solaris OS). The reader should be comfortable with LAN fundamentals and with networking concepts in general.

Before performing the procedures described this book, review the information in the Netra CT Server Product Overview.


Safety and Compliance

All Netra CT servers are shipped with the Netra CT Server Safety and Compliance Manual, which specifies the environmental and electrical safety requirements for the product and contains compliance certification for various countries. Review the information in the Netra CT Server Safety and Compliance Manual before proceeding with the instructions in this document.


How This Book Is Organized

Chapter 1 provides an installation overview.

Chapter 2 contains information needed to prepare your installation site for the Netra CT server.

Chapter 3 describes how to mount the chassis into a rack.

Chapter 4 describes how to install a Netra CT server into the chassis.

Chapter 5 explains how to install I/O boards into a Netra CT server.

Chapter 6 illustrates how to connect the necessary cables to a Netra CT server.

Chapter 7 tells how to power the Netra CT server on and off.

Chapter 8 provides information on installing Netra CT server software.

Appendix A contains information about connecting external SCSI devices to a Netra CT server.

Chapter contains terms and acronyms useful in the administration of Netra CT servers.
