How To Install Domain-Based Licenses

You will receive password licenses from the License Distribution Center. The current implementation of domain-based passwords does not use a separate license server, so it is not necessary to run a license server to operate these ScholarPASS configured products. Installation should take you 15 minutes.

1. Verify that you have the following directory.

   % ls /basedir/SUNWadm/license_dir

   In this command,

   basedir

   Specifies the directory where the software is installed.

   If you have the appropriate directory, skip to Step 3. If you do not, then continue with Step 2.

2. Become root, then create this directory.

   # mkdir /basedir/SUNWadm/license_dir

   In this command,

   basedir

   Specifies the directory where the software is installed.

3. Take the password information provided by the License Distribution Center and save it in a text file:

   License	File Name
   ScholarPASS	sunpro.lic,sp

   Make sure your file name contains both a period (.) and a comma (,). You can append the contents of this new file to an existing domain-based password file or create additional files with an incremented name (for example, sunpro.lic,sp1, or sunpro.lic,sp2).

4. Verify the contents and location of the file (it should be placed in the directory indicated in ""), then save the file.

   Your licensed software is ready to use.
