Supported System Configurations
|
This chapter provides a basic overview of the Sun StorageTek RoHS 6 Compliant, Enterprise Class 4Gb FC Dual Port PCI-Express Singlewide ExpressModule HBA (henceforth referred to as HBA). This chapter also describes the various operating systems, host platforms, storage, and infrastructure configurations that support the HBA. It contains the following topics:
Product Features
The HBA consists of a single wide, PCI ExpressModule bus expansion board that interfaces a 4-lane (8-lane physical) PCI Express bus to a Fibre Channel (FC) optical media bus. The HBA can act as either an initiator or a target. The board supports two independent FC buses operating at 4.25 Gbits/sec. It is also backward compatible with 2.125-Gbit/sec and 1.0625-Gbit/sec devices. Small Form Factor (SFF) optical transceivers are used to connect to the external FC buses.
See TABLE 1-1 for a list of the HBA's features.
