Uninstalling the Management Portal
The Management Portal uninstallation process is explained in the following subsections:
Before You Begin
Before you begin the uninstallation process, you should know the fully qualified domain name (such as portal.example.sun.com) of the system from which you are uninstalling the Management Portal. You must also know the passwords of the following Java ES administrative users, created when Java ES was installed:
- Java ES Directory Server administrative user
- Java ES Access Manager administrative user
- Portal Server administrative user
- Portal Server Directory Manager user
When the Management Portal is uninstalled, the Storage Automated Diagnostic Environment remains on the system, since it can function both as a stand-alone application and as a supporting application for the Management Portal. If you wish to fully remove the Storage Automated Diagnostic Environment, you must explicitly uninstall it, using baconfig. For instructions, go to Removing the Storage Automated Diagnostic Environment Role.
Uninstallation Procedure
The baconfig tool calls the Java ES uninstallation script /var/sadm/prod/entsys/uninstall. This script is created when Java ES is installed and prompts you for input during the uninstallation process.
In most cases, you can simply accept the default answer at these prompts. It is advisable, however, to read and understand the Java ES uninstaller prompts before doing so.
Throughout the uninstallation process, you can enter the left angle bracket (<) to return to the previous question or menu.
Java ES software uninstallation does not occur until answers have been supplied for all of the uninstaller questions. You can exit out of the Java ES uninstaller by typing an exclamation point (!).
1. Log in as root.
2. Start the baconfig utility, as shown in the following example.
3. Type 2 to obtain a listing of the installed ESM Base Applications.
