Change the Administrator Password

The default password for the root user is changeme. You can use the passwd command to make the password unique and more secure.

• On the management controller, type:

  # passwd user

  where user is the user name who’s password is to be changed. For example:

  # passwd root
  Changing password for user root. 
  New UNIX password: new_password
  Retype new UNIX password: new_password
  passwd: all authentication tokens updated successfully.
