Uninstalling From WindowsThis section describes the steps required to uninstall the Sun ONE Web Services Platform Developer Edition software from the Windows 2000 platform.
Note If you have deployed any applications on the Sun ONE Application Server, or on any other servers, you will lose this data.
You should make backups, as necessary.
Uninstalling
Stop All Servers
- To stop all servers, from your Windows 2000 environment, go to:
Start > Programs > Sun Microsystems > Sun ONE Web Services Platform Developer Edition > Stop Sun ONE Servers

OR:
- Execute the following command:
<install_dir>\utils\stopservers.bat
Either of these commands invokes the stopservers.bat file which stops the servers.
Verify That Services are Stopped
- Make certain that all servers are stopped through the Windows Services:
Go to Start Menu > Settings > Control Panel > Administrative tools > Component Services > Services (Local) and make certain that the services listed in the table below are not running.
Stop the services if they are in the Started state.
The following table contains a list of products and their Window Services.

Run the Uninstallation Program
- To uninstall the Sun ONE Web Services Platform Developer Edition from your Windows 2000 environment:
Go to Start > Programs > Sun Microsystems > Sun ONE Web Services Platform Developer Edition > Uninstall Sun ONE Web Services Platform Developer Edition

OR:
Go to Sun ONE installation directory and double-click uninstall.bat to run the uninstaller.
OR:
Execute the following command at the DOS prompt to run the uninstaller for the Sun ONE Web Services Platform Developer Edition software.
<install_dir>\WebServicesPlatform\uninstall.bat
Any of the three options above uninstalls all of the products installed by the Sun ONE Web Services Platform Developer Edition installer.
The uninstallation program displays a Welcome Message.

- Click Next.
The Ready to Uninstall page displays the list of uninstallable products.

- Click Uninstall to proceed with the uninstallation.
The Uninstalling page appears and displays the progress of the uninstallation.

When the uninstallation process is complete, the Uninstallation Summary page appears.

- Click View Uninstall Log to view the uninstallation details.

- Click Close to quit the uninstallation program.
A window appears with the question: Do you want to restart your machine now?

- Click Yes to restart your machine (recommended).
Note
- Uninstalling a particular component from the list of components in the Sun ONE Web Services Platform Developer Edition through the component's uninstaller can cause inconsistencies.
Therefore, you should uninstall the entire Sun ONE Web Services Platform Developer Edition.
- Make certain that all products were fully uninstalled.
- In this Installation Guide, see the following sections:
Removing Leftover Files, Registry Entries, and Services from Previous Windows 2000 Installations ("Troubleshooting").
- If the uninstallation is not successful, you need to uninstall each product separately.
Go to Start - Settings - Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs.

- Check to see if there are any leftover Start Menu entries.
To remove these, see Remove Leftover Start Menu Entries (Step 6) in the Troubleshooting section.
