1 Preparation

This chapter lists the tool requirements for this installation, and describes the basic configuration for the 25 Mbyte per second Fibre Channel SBus card (FC25/S).

1.1 Tools and Equipment

The FC25/S kit does not include interface cables. The Fibre Channel cable is available in two sizes:

The two meter Fibre Channel cable is part number 537-1004.

The fifteen meter Fibre Channel cable is part number 537-1006.

You will also need:

A #2 Phillips screwdriver

A flat-bladed screwdriver

An antistatic wrist strap

An antistatic mat

Caution -

Use a padded antistatic mat to prevent breakage of parts on the assemblies used in these procedures.

The FC25/S card and the SPARCstorage Array are shipped from the factory ready for the basic configuration. Other configurations may require additional hardware.
