This manual provides instructions for installing the 25 Megabyte/second Fibre Channel (FC25/S) Sbus card.

Who Should Use This Manual

This manual is intended for qualified, service-trained maintenance providers.

Before You Read This Manual

You will need the service manual for your specific system. The Fibre Channel SBus Card Installation Manual contains only information about installing the FC25/S card. It does not have specific software commands for halting or booting your system, nor does it have instructions for opening a workstation cabinet or server cabinet.

How This Manual Is Organized

This manual is divided into two chapters:

Chapter 1, "Preparation," lists tools and equipment.

Chapter 2, "Installation Procedures," provides general instructions for installing the basic interface.

Reference Documents

To perform some of the installation procedures, you will need the reference and service manuals for your specific system.

The FC25/S card is used in equipment which contains lethal voltage. Accidental contact can result in serious injury or death.

Improper handling by unqualified personnel can cause serious damage to this equipment. Unqualified personnel who tamper with this equipment may be held liable for any resultant damage to the equipment.

Individuals who remove any outer panels or open covers to access this equipment must observe all safety precautions and ensure compliance with skill level requirements, certification, and all applicable local and national laws.

Procedures contained in this document must be performed by qualified service-trained maintenance providers.
