1 Preparation

This chapter lists the tool and equipment requirements for the installation of the 25 Mbyte/second Fibre Channel Optical Module (FC25/OM).

1.1 Tools

Caution -

Use an antistatic wrist strap and a padded antistatic mat for this installation.

A #2 Phillips screwdriver

A flat-bladed screwdriver

1.2 Additional Equipment

In general, you will need at least one Fibre Channel cable and either:

Two FC25/OM modules, or

One FC25/OM module and one 25 Mbyte/second Fibre Channel Sbus card (FC25/S)

For example, if you are connecting a second host computer to a SPARCstorage Array, this second interface requires a cable, one FC25/S, and one FC25/OM. The FC25/S card comes with one FC25/OM already installed.
