Preface

This manual provides installation instructions for the 25 Mbyte/second Fibre Channel optical module (FC25/OM). The FC25/OM is used in the SPARCstorage(TM) Array Model 100 series and in a host system.

Who Should Use This Manual

This manual is intended for qualified, service-trained maintenance providers.

Before You Read This Manual

You will need the system documentation for your specific system in addition to this manual. The Fibre Channel Optical Module Installation Manual contains only information about installing the hardware interface. It does not have specific software commands for halting or booting your system, nor does it have instructions for opening a workstation cabinet or server cabinet.

How This Manual Is Organized

This manual is divided into three chapters:

Chapter 1, "Preparation," lists tools and equipment.

Chapter 2, "Installing the FC25/OM in the SPARCstorage Array," contains instructions for installing the FC25/OM) in the SPARCstorage Array unit.

Chapter 3, "Installing the FC25/OM in the Host System," provides instructions for installing an FC/OM in the host computer.
