Adding a Remote Server Instance

To deploy modules or applications to the remote iPlanet Application Server, you must declare an instance for the remote server.

To create a remote server instance:

  1. From the Runtime tab select the Server Registry node, the Installed Servers node, then the iPlanet Application Server 6.0 node.
  2. Right click on the Server Instances node and click Add a Remote iPlanet Application Server Instance.
  3. From the iPlanet Application Server Properties window select each field to enter the appropriate information.

    Admin Port Number Enter the port number of the remote Administrative Server. Port number 10817 is set by default.

    Admin User Name Enter the username for the remote iPlanet Administration Server. The "admin" username is set by default.

    Admin User Password Enter the password for the remote iPlanet Administrative Server on the remote machine.

    Connector URL Enter this URL http://<RemoteHostName>:<RemoteHostPortNumber>/NASApp

    Host Name Identify the remote hostname.

  4. Close the property window.

    A node representing your remote server appears under the iPlanet Application Server Instances node.
