iPlanet Portal Server: Mobile Access Pack Installation Guide |
Chapter 1 Installation Overview
Before you begin installing your iPlanet Portal Server: Mobile Access Pack software, you should familiarize yourself with how the installation software is packaged, what the requirements for your system are, and what information you must have so that you can complete the installation successfully.
Installation Options
The Mobile Access Pack product includes files for downloading and product documentation available on the iPlanet Web site.You can add the Mobile Access Pack to an existing installation of the iPlanet Portal Server 3.0, Service Pack 3a, or you can complete a new installation of the iPlanet Portal Server 3.0, Service Pack 3a followed by an installation of the Mobile Access Pack.
System Requirements
The Mobile Access Pack product has several system requirements that you must meet before you start your installation. This section explains in Table 1-1 what these are.

You can install the Mobile Access Pack software using the iPlanet Portal Server: Mobile Access Pack installation CD-ROM or download the iPlanet Portal Server: Mobile Access Pack software from this web site:http://www.iplanet.com/downloads/download/
Both provide the iPSMAP3.0-01.tar file, which includes the following directories and files:
The compressed size of the installation files is about 1.6 MB. The uncompressed size is about 3 MB.

Understanding What Is Installed
The Mobile Access Pack install script installs the following Mobile Access Pack packages:
SUNWwp, the Mobile Access Pack server
SUNWwpht, authorization and desktop HTML templates
SUNWwpwt, authorization and desktop WML templates
SUNWwpct, authorization and desktop cHTML templates
SUNWwcht, client HTML templates
SUNWcct, client cHTML templates
