You can administer the SIMS product from either MicroSoft Windows 95,
Windows NT 4.0, or Solaris systems.
To install on Windows 95 or Windows NT 4.0
Note - It is recommended that you do not run the SIMS Administration console on a dual boot machine running both Windows 95 and Windows NT. The console will experience a NullPointerException error, which will cause problems loading the main page.
| 1. | Insert the SIMS 3.5 CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive. |
The CD-ROM Autoplay starts, displaying two options: View README and Install.If the Autoplay screen does not appear after a few seconds, then continue with Step 3 below.
| 2. | Click the Install button. |
| 3. | Click the Start button. |
| 4. | Click the Run button. |
| 5. | Run the setup script.

Running the setup script begins the installation program.
| 1. | Insert the SIMS 3.5 CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive. |
Volume Manager automatically mounts the CD-ROM in the directory.

| 2. | Change directories to the SIMS 3.5 product directory.

| 3. | As a non-root user, run the setup script to begin the installation program.

| 4. | Click Install Main Menu to display the installation main menu, as shown in FIGURE 6-2. |
| 5. | Select SIMS 3.5 Options from the main menu page. |
| 6. | Select the Remote Administration Console option. |
| 7. | Click the Apply button. |

| This invokes a command tool. |
| 9. | Specify your root password. |
| SIMS begins installing the necessary software to invoke the SIMS Administration Console. |
| 10. | Choose any key in the command tool window to exit when installation completes. |
| This brings up the installation summary page to indicate that the SIMS Administration Console has been installed and configured. |
