Development Options

The Development Options dialog box enables you to set your Netscape Application Builder options.

The following tabs are included in the Development Options dialog box:

Startup Tab
Description
The Startup tab enables you to specify the behavior to invoke upon starting Netscape Application Builder (NAB).

Show welcome dialog
A dialog box prompting you to choose a project appears each time you launch NAB.
Load recently used project
The project most recently opened automatically appears when you launch NAB.
Do nothing
NAB opens without loading a project or displaying a dialog box.

Code Generation Tab
Description
The Code Generation tab enables you to specify how Netscape Application Builder (NAB) behaves when you user wizards to generate code. For instance, by default NAB launches a dialog box prompting you to create a data model after you create a new project using the New Project wizard.

Use Extended NAS API for Generic Servlet?
Select the checkbox to use NAB extensions in your servlet or uncheck this option to create standard servlets.
Show a warning messgae prior to running every insertion wizard?
NAB launches a dialog box warning you that wizard-generated code will be inserted into the active source file at the cursor's present position. This dialog box appears each time you run an insertion wizard.
Prompt the user for a data model after a project has been created?
NAB launches a dialog box reminding you to create a data model after you create a new project using the New Project wizard. This dialog box appears each time you run the New Project wizard.

Java Tab
Description
The Java tab enables you to set Java compiler options.

Validation location
Location where you generate code to validate user input:
Compile command
External compiler (if any) used to compile code in your project.
Compile with
Type of compiling to perform:
Compiler class path
Path where the compiler refers when locating your class files.
External editor
Default package for EJBs
Generated EJBs are stored in the location you specify here. For example, specify com.apps and EJBs are stored in the apps directory. If you don't specify a default package, generated EJBs are stored in the project directory.

Image editor
Image editor outside of NAB used to view and edit the images in your project.

Location of your preferred HTML browser. Enter this as a complete path.

Description
The Source Control tab enables you to specify which source control system to use. You can then enter commands associated with the source control system.

Source control system to use.
Commands

User
Current user's name.
Set to default
Restore fields to pre-set default values. These values are listed in Default Values for Command Lines.
