Installing the Sun Control Station CC Edition Software |
This chapter describes how to download and install the Sun Control Station software, and how to log in to the browser interface.

Caution - You mustinstall the Sun Control Station CC Edition software on a local file system of your server. You cannot install it on a remotely mounted file system. |
For information about how to download and install the optional Data Manager Module, see the Sun Data Manager Module Installation and Administration Guide.
1. Download the Sun Control Station software from the Sun Download Center.
2. As the root user, extract the software packages from the downloaded file.
Note - You can use either gzip or gunzip to unzip the tar.gz files. |
3. If the prerequisite packages (SFWmysql, SFWgcmn, and SFWncur) are not already installed on the system, install them.
For software and installation requirements and prerequisites, see Dependencies, Requirements, and Limitations.
4. Install the Sun Control Station software.
See Installed Software Components for the list of software components that are installed.
5. If the WBEM patch is installed, reboot your system to successfully complete the installation.
Now you can log in to the Sun Control Station application. See How to Log in to the Sun Control Station Application.

After you install the Sun Control Station software, you can access the application through the browser interface.
1. Open a browser window and type:
If you do not want to use the SSL connection, type the following URL:
http://IP-address-of-server:8080/sdui/
Note - If you get an error when you go to http://host-name/, go to http://host-name:8080/sdui/ instead. |
2. Type the user name admin and the password admin.
The Sun Control Station CC Edition home page appears.
4. Change the admin password from the Station Settings menu the first time that you log in.
