Hot-plug components can be removed from a fully powered and operational system. Some hot-plug components require OS preparation before removal or installation. A PCIe EM that is hosting non-vital system resources can be removed at any time using these instructions. If the PCIe EM is a vital system resource, such as the only network interface, removing it might cause an unacceptable interruption in service.
