Creating an ASM Volume

To create an ASM Volume:

  1. Navigate to the Volumes page.

  2. Select Create. TheCreate ASM Volume Page appears.

  3. Specify a name for the ASM volume.

  4. From the drop-down box, select the disk group that you wish to associate with the ASM volume.

  5. You can specify the size of the ASM volume in units of TB, GB, MB and KB.

  6. Click Show Advanced Options to set the redundancy and striping attributes for the disk group. To hide these advanced options, select Hide Advanced Options.

  7. By default, an ASM volume inherits its redundancy attribute from the disk group. If you want to change the default value, select any of the redundancy options High, Normal, or External.

  8. Set the Stripe Width and Stripe Columns attributes for striping.

  9. Click OK to save the settings. ASMCA creates an ASM volume based on the values specified.
