Creating a Disk Group

To create a disk group:

1. Navigate to the Disk Groups page.

2. Select Create. The Create Disk Group Page appears.

3. Specify a name for the disk group.

4. Select one of the redundancy types among High, Normal, and External, to set the redundancy for the disk group.

5. Select the member disks that you want to add to the disk group. Click Show Candidates to view all the disks that have a header status of CANDIDATE. To view all the disks that are discovered, click Show All.

6. Click Change Disk Discovery Path to provide a new path.

7. Provide the versions for Database Compatibility and ASM Compatibility. Make sure that the version entered for Database Compatibility is lower than that of ASM Compatibility.

8. Click OK. ASMCA now creates a disk group.
