Open Source Metadata Framework Files

The XML file for each help system manual has an associated Open Source Metadata Framework (OMF) file. The OMF file contains information about the manual that is used by the help browser. OMF files have a .omf extension.

When you install an application, the OMF file is copied to the /usr/share/omf/application-name directory. If a help document has an associated OMF file, users can access the help document from the help browser. OMF files contain the following information about help documents:
