This procedure explains the steps to populate the information tree on the server with data from a client system's /etc files. This task assumes that /etc files from different client systems are not merged into single files. You must perform this task on every system that has the source /etc files with which to populate the server.
This task uses the domain west.example.com that was used to prepare the client profile in Examples of Server Configuration for LDAP.
Before You Begin
Make sure that the Oracle Directory Server Enterprise Edition is already set up. Specifically, ensure that the directory information tree has been configured with the idsconfig command, as described in How to Configure Oracle Directory Server Enterprise Edition for the LDAP Naming Service.
