Oracle Advanced Support Portal supports the following users:
A customer user is an individual in the customer organization who has been added to Oracle Advanced Support Portal.
A customer user administrator (CUA) is an optional additional assignment to a customer user, giving the ability to grant privileges to other Oracle Advanced Support Portal users in their customer organization.
A service provider user is an Oracle user. Service provider users who have been granted access to a customer or any of the customer resources, such as groups, contracts, or contract line items, can view or manage those resources according to the level of access. For example, service provider users who have been granted access to at least one contract line item for the customer organization can view or manage that contract line item. Service providers can invite one or more customer users to become the CUA for the customer organization.
Note:
The terms service provider and provider user are also used to denote a service provider user.A customer user is a member with of a customer organization with basic access privileges to Oracle Advanced Support Portal. Once the individual's details have been added to the Oracle Advanced Support Portal Address Book as a customer user for the customer, they will receive e-mail notification. The account is activated when they log in to Oracle Advanced Support Portal.
Each customer user can use Oracle Advanced Support Portal to perform the following tasks:
View the contracts for their customer organization
View their group membership
View their assignments
View the Address Book for their customer organization
View and update their Oracle Advanced Support Portal profile information
About Customer User Administrators
A customer user administrator (CUA) is an optional additional privilege that can be granted to a customer user. Each customer can have one or more CUAs. CUAs can add individuals to their Oracle Advanced Support Portal customer address book, thereby creating users accounts for those individuals. They grant access privileges to their customer users through a combination of groups, roles, and policies.
In summary, each CUA can use Oracle Advanced Support Portal to:
View contracts for their customer organization
Manage users and contacts in the Address Book for their customer organization
Manage groups of users
View roles and privileges
Manage policies to grant those users access to contracts, service delivery plans (SDPs), and other resources
View and update their Oracle Advanced Support Portal profile information
A service provider user is an Oracle employee who can access Oracle Advanced Support Portal. Service provider users can be granted access to view and manage customer organizations. When requested, service provider users can perform the following tasks on behalf of customer organizations.
Manage contracts for customer organizations
Invite customer users to become customer user administrators (CUAs) for their customer organization
Add, update, or delete customer organizations
Manage roles and view privileges
View users and contacts for certain customer organizations
