Once you have created the alert, you can add it to the PAF using the Alerts tab in the Portal Administration. To add a new alert:

  1. Enter the Portal Administration and click on the Alerts tab.

  2. Click either New Administrative Alert or New Framework Alert on the side navigation bar.

  3. Enter the following information about the new alert and click Save:

    Message Name

    A name that identifies the message. This is not a unique identifier.

    Message Type

    The message type is the full package name of the message type, for example:

    atg.portal.messaging.OrangeAlert

    The message type is a unique identifier.

    Resource Bundle

    The full package name of the resource bundle used by the message type, for example:

    atg.portal.messaging.MyMessageResources

Select a radio button to indicate how this alert can be configured:

User alerts not allowed
Alerts allowed, but not user-configurable
Alerts allowed, configurable by user
