Refresh servers are intended to be used when non-uniform exports are used on a file server. They should not be used or configured for uniform exports since they are all required to be available to complete a repository refresh.

If a refresh server is marked as down for a non-uniform export, it is not possible to refresh the repository. If you need to perform a repository refresh while a refresh server is down, you must reconfigure the file server to remove the refresh server. In the case where uniform exports are defined, the designated admin servers are used to perform the refresh.
