Saving your changes without submitting the form

The Save Only button, which appears next to the Submit button on forms, allows users entering data on an EDC or ePRO form to save their changes to the form without executing server-side validations on the form. However, the OutcomeLogix application might require you to correct field entries before performing the Save Only function.

The Save Only button appears on a form when the following are true:

  1. The study design has enabled the Save Only button.
  2. The user has the ability to submit patient data.
  3. The form has never been submitted.

A user may use the Save Only button any number of times prior to submitting the form as complete. A form in the Save Only state is still eligible for all operations performed on a blank or completed form, including manual status changes and manual queries. Data in the Save Only state is included in reports and data exports.

When a form is submitted, even if queries apply to the form, its status is Complete and the Save Only button is disabled.
