Intermountain Healthcare has deployed Global Search, the quick access bar, and the Notifications panel with PeopleTools 8.59. We went live with 8.59 in September 2021 and currently run our systems on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. We use advanced managed cloud services and Oracle functional services to help manage our PeopleSoft instance.

Global search

Intermountain Healthcare has deployed Global Search for our users to quickly access the data they need. It allows our users to traverse PeopleSoft with just a couple of clicks and keywords. It has become one of the primary methods of navigating PeopleSoft for our users. We felt that this modernized PeopleSoft for our users. Some of the indexes we have deployed are Procurement Data, Purchasing Contracts, Adhoc Document, Purchase Order Documents, WM Assets, Reports, Menu, and eProcurement catalog items. We have plans for many more.

Once enabled, the global search bar has a drop-down content filter. When you click in the search bar and start typing you are presented with search suggestions.

Another benefit is that each of the individual pages for transactions have a “Keyword Search” tab enabled. Results are returned quickly, and you can filter further from the initial results by date, and so on.

Quick access bar

Intermountain Healthcare also uses the quick access bar. It sits on the left-hand side of the homepage and your favorites and recent visited items can be quickly accessed. This reduces the effort to navigate PeopleSoft and helps our users be more efficient with their time.

Notifications panel

Intermountain Healthcare also uses the notification features for actions on the homepage. Users can quickly see action items such as approvals for expense reports. They know and understand that items are awaiting action from them. This is yet another way to quickly inform our users of work they need to complete.

Alerts

Intermountain Healthcare also uses the notification features for alerts. This cool feature notifies users of the things they need to be aware of. It provides a one-stop shop for notifications.
