SouthCoast health went live of PeopleSoft on Finance/Supply Chain in October, 2016 and HCM in October, 2017. Even though they went live in 9.2, they only implemented classic and not fluid. This year they are undertaking a large strategic effort to achieve following goals.

  • Provide modern and intuitive layout for Employees and Managers
  • Deliver ability for users to perform real time data visualization and analytics
  • Reduce use of paper and meet regulatory expectations
  • Cut down on PUM image upgrade time by 90%
  • Reduce cost and maximize product utilization

To achieve these objectives, SouthCoast is doing following:

  • Launch Fluid to Managers and Employees in August 2019
  • Do image upgrade to latest release and create PTF scripts for regression testing
  • Reduce customization by using page field configurator, Delivered functionality, event mapping etc
  • Use PeopleSoft ePerformance and Form Builder to create various checklist and paper forms

Organizational response to these changes have been phenomenal. Employees and Managers love the new look and feel and really appreciate that they can now perform critical functions on phones or tablets. For example Certification/Licenses can be uploaded through a phone or open enrollment can be completed on a phone or tablet. Management is also excited about the reporting capabilities where managers, for very first time, will be able to do self service reporting on direct/indirect reports.

Another important initiative is the reduction in paper. With the latest release, they are now exploiting features like fluid forms, development documents and surveys to reduce paper and go electronic.

Finally, with the image upgrade they are learning about past mistakes and re-evaluating all customization to come up with a better way to reduce customization and maximize product utilization. They new design heavily utilize page/field configurator., event mapping and analytic frameworks.
