Description. Member free auto Upgrade.

Internal Name. MEMBER_FREE_AUTO_UPGRADE

Property Determination. When set to Y, users can configure award codes for a membership type based on a room upgrade with zero points required for the upgrade. When an agent makes a reservation for the guest with the configured membership type and selects the room type that is eligible for the free upgrade, a message will display indicating that a member upgrade is available, and it will prompt the user to review the upgrade before saving the reservation. On the Reservation screen, in the RTC (Room to Charge) field, the guest will be charged the rate for the original room type selected and not the higher rate for the upgraded room type; therefore, the room charge will remain the same despite the upgrade. Upgrade indicators will be displayed on the Reservation and Reservation Snapshot screens for the reservation. Note: Once the award has been selected and attached to reservation, the reservation cannot be upgraded again based on the award that has been attached.

Note: For this feature to work in PMS, the Front Desk>RESERVATION UPSELL application function cannot be active. If both MEMBER FREE AUTO UPGRADE and RESERVATION UPSELL are active, a conflict will result where only the Upsell window will display.
