Understanding Business Events

Business Events are required in OPERA to send messages to any external system and must be configured according to what the external system can accommodate. Unique business events and data elements are defined for each external system/module combination. When an action is carried out in Opera that involves that data element, a business event is triggered, which then becomes a message to the external system.

Note: Business events are completely dependent on the interface.

To set up business events and data elements for each external system/module combination, select Configuration>Setup>Business Events>Configuration. The Business Event Configuration screen appears.

A value must be entered in the External System and Module fields before you are able to configure any business events. This may be done by manually entering the information or selecting the value from the list of values. Select the Search button to view the business events defined for a specific external system/module combination.

Select the New or Edit button to set up business events and data elements. Select the appropriate link below for additional information on configuring business events for a specific external system.
