Preferences Utility
Requirements/Prerequisites
The following permission must be granted to user:
Access the Delete Preferences utility from the Utilities>Profile>Preferences Utility menu option in OPERA Utilities.
When accessing the utility, you will be prompted to enter a password. Enter the password assigned for this utility and select OK.
Use the Delete Preferences utility to delete preference types from the system. This utility will remove the selected preference types from configuration, profiles, and all reservations with which it is linked. The preferences may be global or property level. The Delete Preferences utility may also be used to convert a property specific preference to global.
Note: Since the deletion of the preference types will require a lock of several records, please be sure all users are logged off during this process. To completely remove the selected preference types from the system, you will need to run this utility for both ORS and PMS.
Delete. Select this radio button to delete Global or Property Specific preference types from the system.
Property Specific to Global. Select to transition a property specific preference to a global preference. See Property Specific to Global details below.
Global. Available when the Delete radio button is selected, select to display global preferences.
Property. Available when the Delete radio button is selected, select to display property specific preferences. When selected, a property field will display. Select the down arrow to open the Property list of values and choose a property.
Operation. The operations that were performed.
Status. The operation statuses.
Preference Type. The preference types.
Preference. The preference codes.
Select the Property Specific to Global radio button to convert property specific preferences to global. To convert a property specific preference to global, choose the Select button to open the list of property specific preferences and select one or more preferences to convert. Select OK to convert the property specific preferences to global.
Search. Select to display search results.
Scheduler. Select to open the OPERA Scheduler and monitor the process of the delete preferences job.
Delete. Select to remove preferences from the results grid.
Select. Select to open the Preferences list of values and choose one or more preference types to delete or convert.
OK. Select to run the utility. Depending on your selection, a job will run in the OPERA Scheduler to delete a preference type or to convert a property specific preference to global.
