IFC Translation Tab

Select this tab to define translation information

Select Translation. Select the appropriate radio button to indicate the type of translation and then select the New or Edit button to work with that translation type. Select the Delete button to delete an existing configuration.

Merchant ID. This is used by some EFT Interfaces. When this radio button is selected, the Origin Code and Merchant ID columns appear in the grid to the right.
Article Number. Select this radio button to translate the article number between OPERA and the vendor. Refer to Articles for additional information on article numbers.
Language Code. Select this radio button to translate the language used between OPERA and the Vendor system.
Key Options. Select this radio button to set up interface key option translations and define how the key options interact with IFC8. When this radio button is selected, the OPERA Key Option, IFC8 Key Option, Priority, and Position columns appear in the grid. Select the New or Edit buttons to create new or edit existing key options. The Key Options Translation - New or Edit screens appear. Complete the fields below and select the OK button.
- OPERA Key Option. Select the OPERA key option from the list of values. The key options list of values are defined in the property preferences setup.
- IFC8 Key Option. Enter a 1 or 0 (on or off).
- Priority. Enter the priority of the key option. This allows for greater flexibility when setting up multiple key option configurations.
- Position. Enter the position of the key option within the IFC8 interface configuration.
Currency Codes. Select this radio button to setup gift card currency codes so that gift cards can be used at a property, even if the gift card is in a different currency than the currency that the property uses. Select the New or Edit button to create new or edit existing gift card currency codes for OPERA or for the vendor.

OPERA Currency Code. Select the OPERA Currency Code from the list of values.

Vendor Currency Code. Manually enter the corresponding code for the Vendor Currency Code.

Guest Number length. This determines how long the resv_name_id is that is sent to the vendor. Some vendor systems only support a certain number of digits in the message.

For example, with Spectradyne clones and bill display, the vendor system only supports 6 (six) digits. By entering 6 in this field, IFC knows that it needs to trim this value to 6 so that when OPERA receives this data back from IFC8, the Web service can find the appropriate guest. In this case OPERA would look at the last 6 digits of all resv_name_id's, as that would be the most unique identifier.

Guest ID Message Length. Select the length of the messageId sent to the vendor. Message IDs are assigned to text messages sent to vendor, and some vendors only support up to a certain number of digits in the message.

For example, the vendor system only supports 6 (six) digits. By entering 6 in this field, IFC knows that it needs to trim this value to 6 so that when OPERA receives this data back from IFC8, the Web service can find the appropriate Guest ID. In this case OPERA would look at the last 6 digits of all messageIds, as that would be the most unique identifier.

Default Charge. Enter the default charge to be used for minibar charges if Articles are not defined.
