Yield

Select Configuration>Rate Management>Yield. OPERA provides a hurdle interface for third-party external yield management companies to allow population of Hurdle, Overbooking and Restriction tables. Only one Yield license is permitted to be active. OPERA provides license codes several yield integration systems.

Note: If the yield license code OPP OPUS is active a field exists in the Property Detail screen to store the yield currency. This is to allow the OPUS2 yield management company to have the hurdle table store values in a different currency to the properties base and therefore allow OPERA to convert against this currency when comparing bid prices.

Reservation Updates and Hurdle Rate Calculation

If Hurdle Rate functionality is in use, hurdle rates are calculated if the following fields are updated on the Reservation screen:

Arrival/Departure Dates
Number of Persons
Room Types
Room Type to be Charged
Number of Rooms
Removal of Block Code from a Reservation

OPERA displays a warning message before saving the updated information advising you to select the Rate Grid. After selecting the Rate Grid and exiting the grid OPERA returns to the Reservation screen and performs the selected operation.

If an Add-On reservation is created OPERA recalculates the hurdle rate to ensure the rateable value meets requirements. The hurdle rate from the existing reservation will not be used.

If a user performs a Combine or Break, OPERA updates the UPDSOLDS field in the Hurdle Rates table accordingly. OPERA also updates this field in case of Cancellations.

All normal business events will be generated from all of the above actions for the yield management software to process.

User Activity Log Entries

If Hurdle Rate functionality is in use, the following new entries will appear in the User Log:

HRDLEOVR. This entry will be logged when a user enters or updates any fields in the HURDLE RATES table.

RTYIELD. This entry will be logged when a user updates the "Yieldable" field on the rate header form.

RTBUCKET. This entry will be logged when a user updated the "Rate Bucket" field on the rate header form.

RTVALUE. This entry will be logged if any of the following fields are updated on the rate detail form:

STAY ADJ. Per-stay yield adjustment amount.

NIGHT ADJ. Per-night yield adjustment amount.

PERSON ADJ. Per-person yield adjustment amount.

OPERA will always log the old values and the new values.
