HA for WebLogic Server Overview

Use the information in this section to understand how to make the WebLogic Server application highly available.

WebLogic Server running on Oracle Solaris Cluster systems delivers a highly available platform for developing and deploying mission-critical e-commerce applications across distributed, heterogeneous application environments.

The Oracle Solaris Cluster HA for Oracle WebLogic Server (HA for WebLogic Server) data service provides fault monitoring and high availability for the WebLogic Server application. High availability is provided for the WebLogic Administration Server and WebLogic Managed Server.

HA for WebLogic Server enables the Managed Server component of the WebLogic Server clustering solution to be highly available in an Oracle Solaris Cluster system. To achieve this, you must configure the data service to be mastered by multiple nodes.

Note -  You can install and configure this data service to run in either the global zone or a zone cluster. For updated information about supported configurations of this data service, see the Oracle Solaris Cluster 4 Compatibility Guide.

For conceptual information on failover and multi-master services, see the Oracle Solaris Cluster 4.3 Concepts Guide.
