A Peer Node is an external Diameter client, server, or agent with which the DSR establishes direct transport connections. A Peer Node may be a single computer or a cluster of computers and may have one or more transport connections.
Note: All DSR applications can co-exist on the same DSR , and all DSR applications can run on the same Diameter agents.
The following application limitations exist.
The following applications are mutually exclusive on the same DSR Signaling node:
- Exception - CPA (OFCS) and PDRA
- Exception - GLA is only supported on nodes with PDRA
- Exception - CPA (OFCS) and OC-DRA
The following application combinations are not supported on the same Diameter Agent Server. All are supported with the following exceptions:
- Exception - CPS (OFCS) and PDRA
- Exception - all three of FABR, RBAR and PDRA
- Exception - G6 24G RAM blade does not support DM IWF application
- Exception - Rack mount server in DSR 7.0 does not support PDRA, GLA, FABR, CPA, and OC-DRA
After it is configured, a Peer Node can be:
- Assigned to connections for use in Diameter routing
- Assigned to Route Groups that manage the distribution of traffic to and among Peer Nodes
On the
Diameter > Configuration > Peer Nodes page, you can perform the following actions:
- Filter the list of Peer Nodes, to display only the desired Peer Nodes.
- Sort the list by a column in ascending or descending order, by clicking the column heading (except IP Addresses). The default order is by Peer Node Name in ascending ASCII order.
- Click an entry that is shown in blue in a column, to open the Diameter > Configuration > <component> [Filtered] page and display that entry only.
- Click Insert.
The Diameter > Configuration > Peer Nodes [Insert] page appears. You can add a new Peer Node.
The Diameter > Configuration > Peer Nodes [Insert] will not open if the maximum number of Peer Nodes per Network Element (16000) already exists in the system.
Select a Peer Node in the list, and click Edit.
The Diameter > Configuration > Peer Notes [Edit] page appears. You can edit the selected Peer Node.
Select a Peer Node in the list, and click Delete. You can delete the selected Peer Node.
