You can create a LUN using the QoS properties of an existing LUN as a template. Creating a LUN from a template does not copy any data to the new LUN.
Creating a LUN from an existing LUN copies the
QoS properties from the existing LUN to the new LUN. The following properties are not copied to the new LUN:
LUN host mappings
Map your new LUN to a host entry.
Clone LUN schedules
If you want to create automated Clone LUNs, create a data protection schedule for the LUN.

- Select a LUN from the list that contains the QoS properties that you want to copy.
- Select .
Result:The system displays the Create SAN LUN dialog with a unique LUN name.
- (Optional) Enter a new, unique name for the LUN.
Note: The system creates a new LUN name that is based on the name of the source LUN.
- Make any necessary changes to the LUN properties.
- (Optional) Select the Mapping tab and map the LUN to a host entry.
- (Optional) Select the Data Protection tab and create a data protection schedule.
- Click OK.
