The Oracle FS Provider for VMware VASA enables VMware vCenter Servers to obtain and provide extended storage information about an Oracle FS System and the LUNs exported to the VMware ESX Servers.
The VMware vCenter Server uses the VASA Provider functions to retrieve information about storage topology, capabilities, and status from an Oracle FS System. This information enables a VMware vSphere Server administrator to monitor associated storage with vendor‑specific detail without leaving the VMware vCenter client environment. The VASA Provider is installed on a server that is separate from the VMware vSphere Server. The VASA Provider is registered on the VMware vCenter Server to enable communication between the VMware vCenter and the Oracle FS System.
