Supported Upgrade Paths for Siebel CRM Version 8.1.1.14

Table 3 lists supported upgrade paths for Siebel CRM version 8.1.1.14 (SIA repository) on the IBM DB2 for z/OS database platform.

NOTE:  After installing the Siebel CRM software for the current release, you must reset any passwords in the siebns.dat file on the Siebel Gateway Name Server that were previously encrypted using RC4 encryption. In the current release, such passwords are encrypted using Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) instead of RC4. You must perform this task regardless of the type of upgrade you are performing. Siebel 7.5.3 through Siebel 8.0 (SEA repository)
  • Full database upgrade.
  • Two-step repository upgrade.

You must perform a two-step repository upgrade:

  1. Upgrade Siebel CRM version 7.5.3 through Siebel CRM version 8.0 (SEA repository) to Siebel CRM version 8.1.1 (SEA repository).
  2. Upgrade Siebel CRM version 8.1.1 (SEA repository) to Siebel CRM version 8.1.1.14 (SIA repository).

Siebel 7.5.3 (SIA repository)
  • Full database upgrade.
  • Single-step upgrade.
  • Perform a full database upgrade. A Development environment upgrade and a Production environment upgrade is required.
  • You can directly upgrade to Siebel CRM version 8.1.1.14. It is a single-step upgrade and post-upgrade process.
  • The New Customer repository, generated through a three-way repository merge, contains all the content from the Siebel CRM 8.1.1.14 Innovation Pack. For more information on repository merge, see Performing the Siebel Repository Merge.

Siebel 7.7.2 (SIA repository)

Siebel 7.8.2 (SIA repository)

Siebel 8.0 (SIA repository)

Siebel 8.1.1.0 (SEA repository)

Siebel 8.1.1.0 to 8.1.1.9 (SIA repository)
  • Patch installation.
  • Incremental repository merge.
  1. Run Oracle Universal Installer (OUI) to apply the Siebel CRM version 8.1.1.14 SIA patch release.

    NOTE:  Siebel Innovation Pack content is not included in the patch release.

  2. If you intend to use new features included from the Siebel CRM 8.1.1.14 Innovation Pack, then you must import the Innovation Pack using incremental repository merge. For more information on incremental repository merge, see Performing the Siebel Incremental Repository Merge.
