Create a LUN Data Protection Schedule

You can create a data protection schedule that in turn creates a clone of a protected volume (LUN or Clone LUN) at regular intervals.

  1. Navigate to SAN > Data Protection > Clone Schedules.
  2. Select Actions > Create.
  3. Enter a name for the data protection schedule.
  4. (Optional) Select a Volume Group in which to create the clone.
  5. (Optional) To start protecting your data at the scheduled time, select Enabled.
    If you do not enable the schedule now, you can do so later by modifying the schedule.
  6. From the Select a Volume to Protect table, select a LUN from which to create the Clone LUN.
    Note: Select a volume that has allocated capacity for clones.
  7. Click the expansion button to the right of Start Time and select the starting day and time for your schedule.
  8. To select the date and time, use the Modify Date/Time controls.
  9. To close the Modify Date/Time dialog, click OK.
  10. Select a repeat interval for the schedule.
  11. Select a frequency value for the schedule.
    Valid frequencies:
    • Run Once

    • Days

    • Hours

    • Months

    • Weeks

    If you chose a frequency of Weeks, select the day of the week that you would like the schedule to run.
  12. Click OK.
    The schedule is listed on the SnapFS Schedules overview page.
