Job Rates Tab

On the Job Rates secondary tab, you can:
  • Assign locations and jobs to an employee

  • Define pay rates for the jobs assigned to the employee

  • Override the default pay rate for jobs

You can assign employees to more than one job; however, employees must have only one primary job per location. Jobs can include hourly or salary jobs, depending on the needs of the employee, and can vary from location to location. For example, an employee can be a salaried employee at one location and a bartender at another location.

Although most job definitions have default pay rates, you can configure pay rates per employee. For example, the default hourly rate for a hostess is $6.25. However, a hostess with multiple years of employment at the same establishment can have an hourly rate of $9.25.

The following table describes the fields on the Job Rates tab:

Field Description

Location Name

Select the location for the job rate.

Job Code Name

Select the job name for the employee at the location.

The letter H after a job code denotes an hourly job. The letter S after a job code denotes a salaried job.

Skill Level

Select the employee’s skill level for the job code.

Effective From/To

Select the date range this job is effective for the employee at the location.

Primary Job

Select this option to make the job the employee’s primary job at that location.

Exclude From Staff Requirements

Select this option to exclude the employee from staff requirements for this job.

Additional fields appear on this tab to configure and override pay rate information depending on the type of job that you select for the Job Code Name. The following table describes the fields that appear when you select an hourly job for the Job Code Name.

Default Pay Rate Applies

Select this option to assign the employee the default pay rate for this hourly job.

Override Pay Rate

If you did not selectDefault Pay Rate Applies, enter the new pay rate to assign to the employee for the job.

Minimum Regular Rate

Shows the minimum regular rate for the job.

Maximum Regular Rate

Shows the maximum regular rate for the job.

Default Regular Rate

Shows the default regular rate for the job.

Overtime Level 1-4 Rate

Shows any applicable overtime levels for the job.

The following table describes the fields that appear when you select a salaried job for the Job Code Name. Although all the fields are mandatory, entering a value in any one of the fields automatically populates the others.

Hourly Rate

Enter the employee’s hourly rate.

Daily Rate

Enter the employee’s daily rate.

Weekly Rate

Enter the employee’s weekly rate.

4 Weeks Rate

Enter the employee’s rate for every 4 weeks.

Monthly Rate

Enter the employee’s monthly rate.

Annual Rate

Enter the employee’s annual rate.
