Configuring a Combination Pricing Discount

  1. In the EMC, select the Enterprise, property, or zone, click Configuration and Discounts.
  2. Double-click the discount record to open it.
  3. On the Auto tab, select 4 - Combination Pricing from the Automatic (Automatically applied, operator cannot enter) drop-down list.

    Priority

    This field determines the order in which the workstation calculates the discounts. This field is blank (0) for all discounts by default, meaning that the workstation calculates discounts at the same time. When using this field, the workstation calculates all discounts in priority 1, then in priority 2, and so on. the workstation calculates priority 0 discounts last. The Priority field allows the discount engine to determine which discount to apply quicker, thus reducing central processing unit (CPU) time on the workstation.

    Trigger MI Groups

    Select the menu item groups that belong to this combination discount. This discount is used in scenarios such as a Burger, Fries, and Soda are $3.25. You can configure a maximum of four trigger Menu Item Groups for combination pricing discounts. You can use a Trigger MI Group more than once (for example, if the combo meal includes two sides). (This is not a typical configuration.)

    Amount Substitution

    Enter the price to be charged for this combo meal.

    Max Count

    Enter the maximum number of combo meals that can be ordered per check. In general, this field is set to 0 to allow an unlimited amount of combo meals on a single check.

  4. Click Save.
