A workstation operator manually applies a discount to a check. This is a traditional discount method. |
Automatic |
A workstation applies an automatic discount when the transaction meets certain criteria. As a workstation operator adds menu items to the guest check, the workstation looks for items that trigger a discount, and then applies the award amount to the check. |
Coupon |
An automatic coupon discount is an automatic discount with one difference: the workstation operator must first apply the discount to the guest check, letting the discount engine know that the discount is available for the check. |
Combination Pricing |
A combination pricing discount is a type of automatic discount or automatic coupon discount that allows a property to charge a single price for multiple items when they appear on a check at the same time. Restaurants use this type of discount in combo meal scenarios such as Burger, Fries, and Soda are $3.25. Configuring a Combination Pricing Discount contains instructions to set up combination pricing discounts. |
Detects the presence of discountable menu items on a transaction.
