Signing On
MICROS Retail OSCAR POS provides different possibilities for signing on:
- Without PIN
In the Operator program, the PIN enforced
option is deactivated.
In the "Operator" program, the PIN
enforced option is deactivated.
The sign on is done after the cashier has entered the operator no. in
answer to the entry query and releases it with key ST or the Waiter
key. Alternatively, sign-on is also possible via the waiter lock. The
waiter pen is placed on the waiter lock and the system reads in the waiter
no..
- With variable PIN (secret no. = 0)
Activate the PIN enforced option in the Operator program. Branch to
the Details sub-window and enter a value of 0 in the PIN
field.
Exit out of the sub-window.
The sign-on procedure will be as follows: After the operator number has
been entered and the ST or Waiter Key has been pressed, the operator is
prompted to enter the PIN. The PIN given by the system during the last
sign-off procedure and printed on the sign-off slip should be entered. The
last sign-off slip should be kept or the latest PIN memorized.
If the receipt is lost and the secret no. has not been memorized, the
sign-on will be done in lock position "2" (supervisor). Then
enter the operator no. and confirm with "ST". Recordings after
this will be continued in lock position "1".
- With firm PIN no. (secret no. > 0)
Activate the option PIN
enforced in program "Operator". Open
the sub-window Details and enter the appropriate no. under PIN.
Save the data.
The sign-on operation is then continued by entering the operator no. in
answer to Sign-on and confirming this. The entry request
changes to PIN please. Now enter the firm PIN and confirm
again.
- Waiter pen enforced
Call up the operator (via program Operator) for whom the waiter pen
enforced is to be programmed. Activate the switch PIN enforced.
Then open the window Details. Enter the pen or key no. under Pen
no. which can be found on the pen. The key no. can be found via the
key function Knubbel . Under PIN you enter any not yet assigned firm PIN.
During sign-on the waiter must be signed on via the waiter pen. It is
important here atht he waiter does not know the secret no. (otherwise he
or she could sign on from entry of the operator no. with subseqeunt entry
of the firm secret PIN no.).
- Re-sign-on after final sign-off
A re-sign-on after final sign-off is done in lock position 2. The display
or screen then show the prompt Sign-on. Turn the key to lock
position 2. Normally, it is the supervisor who has this key. The
re-sign-on of the finally signed off operation is done in the same way as
all other sign-on operations: Entry of the operator no. and confirmation
with ST. The operator is signed on. The supervisor key should be removed,
the operator can continue work with his/her own key.
If your system does not have lock position 2 (PC keyboard is
connected, supervisor key not available, etc. ) a re-sign-on after final
sign-off is only possible after a change of date
