The MICROS Retail keyboard
"TopKey" can also be programmed as a replacement for a PC MF keyboard
to allow entries to be made at the administration desk.
The following
steps are necessary if the MICROS Retail keyboard "TopKey" is to be used as
the PC MF keyboard:

Link the number of the keyboard in which the key assignment is stored
for the terminal functions in field Keyboard no..

Link the number of the keyboard table in which the key assignment has
been stored for the MF keyboard in field Keyboard type.
·
Use PS2 key link to open a table in which the decimal key codes for each
key of the TopKey keyboard should be entered.

The key value is ascertained by connecting up the keyboard to the PS2
port of the system unit and setting the debug level in program PS2 keyboard to
2. Depress the keys on this keyboard in succession. File "..\work\errlog" provides a protocol in
decimal values of the key codes for all depressed keys.

additional devices, e.g. magnetic card reader, central lock, waiter lock, etc.
are connected to this keyboard, the appropriate key codes can be entered as
trailer and header data in the PS2 keyboard via the button "PS2
device data format".
